SiriusXM Radio Poor Reception

SiriusXM Radio Poor Reception

Confirmed Issue:

SiriusXM Radio has poor reception--either intermittently or constantly.

Affected Units:

2020 and newer Vandoit vans with factory-installed SiriusXM and access to SiriusXM subscription.  Vans with aftermarket head units may not have SiriusXM installed.

Issue Explanation:

SiriusXM radio--including the rooftop antenna--is installed by the Ford factory; it is not installed or relocated during the Vandoit upfit. Because it is broadcast via satellite, the SiriusXM signal can be disrupted by weather, geographic location, nearby structures, the direction the SiriusXM antenna is facing and/or by items installed above the antenna.  Based on feedback from customers, some have experienced poor reception with solar panels above the antenna, and some have experienced poor reception without solar panels above the antenna.  Vandoit has yet to confirm a pattern as to what is causing the interference.

Resolution:

We suggest downloading the Sirius app to your phone and use the app through Android Auto or Google Car Play if your car stereo has that option.

Please be aware that factors such as weather, geographic location, and nearby structures may continue to interfere with the SiriusXM radio signal.

Lastly, please be aware that not all vans come with factory-installed SiriusXM radio. Consult your final Build Sheet if you are uncertain whether your van has SiriusXM installed.  Vans with aftermarket head units do not have SiriusXM installed.

If you have questions about your van's SiriusXM radio, please submit a ticket to the Customer Relations team or send an email to support@vandoit.com.
