Affected Units:

Resolution:
Here is a video for troubleshooting buzzing/whining sounds in the Pioneer audio system: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vmghfn1T5mY

The steps below outline the troubleshooting approaches covered in the video:
  1. Check RCA connections at back of head unit and amplifier
    1.       Make sure the cuts on the connections are square
  2. Turn down input sensitive dial on channel 1 and 2
  3. Adjust head unit settings, making everything as flat and level as possible:
    1.       Graphic EQ is flat
    2.       Level the Balance and Fade
    3.       Zero out Speaker dB level
    4.       Turn off all Crossovers
    5.       Turn off Listening Position
    6.       Turn off Time Alignment
    7.       Zero out Bass Boost
    8.       Turn off Loud Boost
  4. Go back to Speaker Level, adjusting the Rear Left and Rear Right dB:
    1.       If the issue is coming from the head unit, turning the dB up will worsen the problem and sound
    2.       If the issue is coming from the amplifier, turning the dB up with fix the issue
  5. Going negative with the dB will allow for the input sensitivity to be turned up.
    1.       Going negative with the dB levels will fix the issue if the issue is coming from the head unit.
    2.       Going negative with the dB levels will worsen the issue if the issue is coming from the amplifier.
