Note: Not all Vandoit vans are equipped with the Espar EasyStart Pro Thermostat, which accompanies the Espar B4L model. If your thermostat looks different than the image below (i.e. it has red and blue triangular buttons), you have the Digi-Max 1000 Thermostat. Espar EasyStart Pro Thermostat Guide:

On/Off Operation:
1. If your van is equipped with the Espar EasyStart Pro Thermostat, to turn it on, click the middle of the Operating Button.
2. Rotate the button until you see the "Heat" icon--three squiggly lines with a straight line underneath--to engage the heater mode.
3. Click the center of the button to select it.
4. Rotate the button until you have reached the desired interior temperature.
5. Click the button to confirm the desired temperature.
6. Next, rotate the button to select the desired run time. If the button is turned counterclockwise, an “unlimited” run time can be selected. If this "unlimited" run time is selected, the Espar will run until it is manually turned off or until the Transit has reached about a 1/4 tank of gas remaining. Click the button to select "unlimited" or the desired run time.
7. To turn off the Espar, rotate the button to the "Heat" icon and click the center of the button. Scroll until you see “off” and then click the center of the button.

Before operating, make sure the van has at least 1/4 tank of gas and the Espar vent inside the van is not blocked.
Set Up Scheduled Run:
1. Click the middle of the Operating Button. Rotate the button until you see the "Timer" icon, which is displayed as a Calendar showing 31.
2. Click the center of the button to select it.
3. Rotate the button to select which timer to set up. Click the center of the button to select it.
4. Rotate the button to select turning the schedule timer ON or OFF. Continue rotating to the "Gear" icon to set up a scheduled run. Click the center of the button to select it.
5. Select which days the heater will run by clicking the center of the button on each desired day. Clicking the center button a second time will deselect the day.
6. Rotate the button to "OK" to confirm days selected. Click the center of the button to select it.
7. Rotating and pressing the button confirms first the hours, then
the minutes for what time operation will begin.
8. Rotate the button to the "Heat" icon and click the center of the button.
9. Rotate the button to select the desired run time and click the center of the button.
10. Inside the "Timer" menu, if there is a Check Mark inside the box, the selected timer is turned On and will operate the Espar based on the parameters you have set.
