Espar Heater "Maintenance Required" Message

Espar Heater "Maintenance Required" Message

Confirmed Issue:

The Espar Digi-Max D-1000 controller is displaying a "maintenance reqd" (maintenance required) message.

Affected Units:

Any Vandoit van with an Espar heater and Digi-Max D-1000 controller.

Explanation:

The "Maintenance Required" message is a default message that comes up after every 1,000 hours of furnace runtime, reminding you to perform routine maintenance on the heater--much like an oil change indicator on a vehicle dashboard.  It is not an indicator of an actual problem.

The timing of the "Maintenance Required" message can be adjusted using the instructions provided in this video: https://youtu.be/mkyhHQyhhD4

Idea
The Espar heater is set to a run time limit of 10 hours from the factory. This default runtime can be adjusted using the steps in this article: https://vandoit.zohodesk.com/portal/en/kb/articles/adjusting-the-espar-heater-run-time-limit
