Rocker Switches Are Not Working

Confirmed Issue:

The rocker switches are flickering or are no longer lighting up at all.

Affected Units:

Any Vandoit van with rocker switches

Issue Explanation:

The wiring for a resistor behind the front rocker switches may not be woven as tightly as needed.  The wiring will need to be located and woven more tightly.

Info
Note: These instructions should address rocker switches not working in all locations in the van--not just the front set.

Resolution:

Tools needed:
- needle-nose pliers

Use this video and the steps written below to correct the wiring: https://youtu.be/HUWmpaYpSN8

To access the Deutsch connection and diode above the front rocker switch location on vehicles that do not have a Ford overhead shelf, the Ford trim with the passenger climate controls needs to be removed.

1. To remove the trim, pry the top clips out of the headliner.

2. Carefully move your finger towards the curve in the trim and pull the trim piece away, fully removing it from the headliner.

3.  Reach into the space behind the trim and locate the gray Deutsch connector.

4.  Inspect the wires going into the connectors as well as how tightly woven the diode is around the yellow and green cable.

5.  If needed, use needle-nose pliers to weave the wiring more tightly.

6.  Test the rocker switches.

If these steps do not resolve the issue you are encountering, please take photos of the Deutsch connection and how the diode is woven and submit a ticket through the Customer Support portal or email support@vandoit.com.
