Removing/Adjusting Ceiling Cross Bars

Removing/Adjusting Ceiling Cross Bars

Article Objective:
To instruct on how to remove or adjust the placement of the ceiling crossbars.

Affected Units:
Any DO or LIV Model Vandoit van

Issue Explanation:

The ceiling extrusion consists of two bars that run front to back in the van as well as crossbars. The two bars running front to back are bolted into the chassis and are weight supporting. The cross bars are not boted into the chassis and can be adjusted/removed. However, we do not recommend removing all crossbars at the same time, as they contribute to the overall skeletal structure of your van.

Resolution:

Tools needed:
6mm allen wrench (ball-end allen wrench is recommended because of the angle of insertion - Ball-End Allen Wrench

1. Remove the 2 bolts on each end of the cross bar. A total of 4 bolts should be removed.

2. If you are removing the bar, remove it at this time.

3. If you are adjusting the cross bar, move the turn ins to the preferred location and bolt the cross bar in.
