Troubleshooting a MaxxAir Fan Green Light

Troubleshooting a MaxxAir Fan Green Light

Confirmed Issue:
The MaxxAir Fan has a blinking green light and will not operate correctly.

Affected Units:
Any Vandoit with a MaxxAir Fan installed

Issue Explanation:
The green light on the MaxxAir Fan can occur for a couple reasons including inconsistent incoming power, the lift motor being inhibited, a bad electronic board, and/or water damage. Most commonly, this occurs due to a bad motherboard or inconsistent incoming power.

Resolution:
Before we distinguish between the possibilities of a bad motherboard or inconsistent incoming power, we need to eliminate the variables for a damaged lift motor. Please copy and paste the following questions, along with your answers, in an email to support@vandoit.com or in a new service ticket in the Vandoit Customer Support Portal

1. Press the "On/off" button on the fan. Results?
2. Use the remote power button to turn the fan on/off. Results?
3. Manually lift the motor and try the above steps again. Results?
4. Is this a rear or front mounted fan?
5. Does the fan open and then close before the green light occurs? Not open at all?
6.  Have you accidentally driven with the fan lid lifted or experienced heavy wind while using the fan?
7.  Have you recently used the fan in inclement weather?

Once you answer these questions, the Vandoit Customer Support team can move forward with next steps of trouble shooting.

In the meantime, you can use this video to reset your fan.  We can't promise this will work, but it may provide a temporary fix:
