Inverter "PTOC Shutdown" Error Message

Inverter "PTOC Shutdown" Error Message

Confirmed Issue:

The GoPower IC2000 monitor displays a "PTOC Shutdown" error message.  The van has no power and the inverter will not turn on.

Affected Units:

Any Vandoit van with an AGM battery system

Issue Explanation:

The PTOC error message indicates over current protection.  The inverter equipped in our AGM system has a 2000 watt inverting capacity. The error message typically occurs when trying to utilize more than 2000 watts in the van.

Resolution:

1.  To reset the inverter, unplug the van from shore power.

2.  Turn the vehicle off.

3.  Turn the inverter off.

4.  After approximately 10 seconds, turn the inverter back on.

Considerations:

Determine if any high-powered devices were running at the time of the error message.  For example, the Dometic air conditioner and the hot water heater are two high-powered devices. Running other items with these components typically triggers a PTOC error.  Turn these devices off when not in use, and it is best to only run the Dometic air conditioner and/or hot water heater when the van is plugged into shore power. Ensure the hot water did not accidentally get turned on by kids or shifting luggage.

If these troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, submit a ticket through the Customer Support portal or email support@vandoit.com with a description of the issue you are encountering and the troubleshooting steps you have taken, along with relevant photos and/or video.
