How to Secure DO Beds when Folded

How to Secure DO Beds when Folded

Confirmed Issue:

The DO folding beds are folded and closed, but they bang against each other and the side framing.

Affected Units:

Any Vandoit van with Murphy-style (i.e. DO Model) folding beds or desk platform

Explanation:

The DO folding beds are stored but need to be secured to prevent them from hitting into anything.

Resolution:

Using the included ratchet straps. Wrap a strap around the back side (wall-facing side) of one of the vertical skeleton extrusion bars, and circle it back to hook it into an eyelet. Then ratchet the strap to pull the bed tight against the side extrusion. This pulls the beds tight enough against the framing that it prevents the bed platforms from bouncing. Follow this technique using ratchet straps on both the front and back sides of the beds.

If there are two folding beds installed and they fold into each other, use the included bracket and star knobs to attach the beds together. This keeps the beds pressed together and prevents movement.  If they are not folded into each other, the above technique can be used for each of the two beds.

If these steps do not resolve what you are experiencing, or if there are any questions about these steps, please submit a ticket through the Vandoit Customer Support portal or email support@vandoit.com with a description of what you are experiencing and photo(s) of the beds.
